About Us

Hello! Welcome to Pies and Puggles, where I blog about thriftingfoodDIY and design. I started blogging to update my West Coast family on my East Coast happenings and for my local Virginia friends, who kept asking me for recipes when I’d bring them dishes and baked goods. So while there’s a lot of thifting and mid century modern decorating going on, be prepared for a heavy dose of butter and sugar!

But perhaps I ought to introduce myself. I’m Ali. Professionally, I run the Etsy store Delightfully Modern. I love thrift shopping and have a made a little business out of tracking down thrifted treasures for people who don’t have time to comb the stores themselves. I also do marketing consulting for select clients. For a more serious take on my skills and marketing services, check out my personal website.

My husband Doug is often the guy behind the camera, though he makes an occasional DIY appearance and covers mixology for me.

Last, but not least, the puggle of Pies & Puggles is Chester Arthur Burtt. Chester mostly looks at me in disbelief as I insist on doing inconvenient things like moving furniture, baking things he isn’t allowed to eat and washing his favorite blanket. Oh, and he also takes over the blog sometimes when we go out of town.

Thanks so stopping by! Without my readers, there wouldn’t be a blog so please know that every visit and every comment (and I read them all) is appreciated!
