Every year for the past six or seven years, I have dutifully gone online and submitted my request for Antiques Roadshow tickets.
If you have never done this before, the process is really rather simple. You just put in your name, address and the tour stop you want to attend, and several months later you check their website to see if your name was randomly drawn.
And this year, for the first time, my name was finally drawn!
We have to go to Richmond to get our shot, but that’s okay. We like Richmond. Richmond is the home of Dixie Donuts. And my favorite blog, Young House Love. And a very cool art museum. We went to the Dale Chihuly show at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts over the winter, and didn’t get to spend nearly as much time as we would have wished taking in their permanent collection. Hopefully the Roadshow producers will stop in and see their very fine collection of Tiffany Lamps. Or if not, go visit them yourself. They are really quite remarkable in person.
All that’s left is to decide what to bring with us. Should I bring the amazing thrift store paintings? Or the fantastic mid century lamp? Or, heck, I might even find something else to bring between now and then.
It’s not until August 17th after all, which is, like FOREVER in thrifting years!
Take the paintings…. great find for only $18.
Those were such a great find!
